Creative Commons, CC, is an international nonprofit organization that empowers people to grow and sustain the thriving commons of shared knowledge and culture we need to address the world’s most pressing challenges and create a brighter future for all.
In order to achieve this they provide Creative Commons licenses and Public Domain tools that gives everyone a free, simple and standardized way to grant copyright permissions for creative & academic works. There are 6 different license type which you can find here.
Why I chose this license?
Basically, this license allows anyone to distribute, remix, adapt, and build upon the material in any medium or format, even for commercial purposes. Why, you may ask? Well, I believe that internet is a free place to share things and everyone should have the right to access information and knowledge. The only thing which I would like in return is credit must be given to the creator. This ensures that my contributions are recognized and that others can benefit from what I have shared / created.
In conclusion, Creative Commons licenses are a great way for creators to share their work with the world while still maintaining some control over how it is used. So go ahead, share your knowledge with the world, and use the proper Creative Commons licenses meanwhile as well!
